Buzzing lips

Posted on March 10, 2026March 10, 2026 by cbain

It’s a hard to describe feeling. I’m laying down trying to sleep, but there is some kind of energy affecting my lips. It feels like my upper and lower lips are trying to make a facial expression, like with my lips pursed.

The kicker is- if I plug my nose and ears (only both) the feeling goes away completely. It is this feeling in my lips that is keeping me awake. As soon as I plug my nose and ears, I return to baseline. If only I could keep them plugged without using my hands I would be able to fall asleep easily.

In the background, to my northwest while facing the road, I can hear a faint electrical noise almost like a telegraph, but way quieter. It’s louder in my left ear than my right. If I plug both of my ears, I can’t hear anything. It’s really high pitched, but I’m having a hard time recording it and playing it back. I can see the volume output on the recording match up with the sound I’m hearing but playing it back it doesn’t make the same high-pitched sound.

Also- the buzzing in my lips only starts happening after I lay down and try to sleep. A year ago, it happened 24/7.
